Overview

Mask Trader, is an independent creator who makes most of his content on Twitch.tv. This was a freelance job that I was confident I could have fun with by exploring my own creative style to create unique visuals throughout a project with multiple deliverables. While speaking with the client, I understood that we booth had a fondness for the cyberpunk aesthetic and was given a more flexible handle on the direction of the project.
“I have been streaming for about 9 years roughly on and off, but now I plan to make this a regular occasion. I play mostly horror games, but might delve into other games if people ask. If you'd like to know more about me, ask away!” ~ Masked Trader

About the Logo

The primary objective of the logo design was to echo the mask feature of the v-tuber model, drawing significant inspiration from The Legend of Zelda Majora’s Mask game. I thought It would be a good idea to take the white segment of the mask and make it negative space within the logo. This made the right side of the mask more noticeable even without a background colour. Instead of a straightforward perspective, I decided to slant the logo slightly to to provide a more three-dimensional viewpoint.

Typography and Colour Choice

The client and I decided to go with fonts that were cyber inspired, but not too over the top. I ended up choosing Termina & Quantum. The colours used were once again based of the model, so many of the colours are the same or slight variations of the blacks and reds found within the model file.

Stream Elements

While this project is not yet fully realized (the client intends to continue the development in the future), I was able to get through and do most of the transition screens and established a visual identity for the overlay. The Ending, Offline, Paused, and Starting screens were designed with a common aesthetic to ensure consistency throughout the overlay. The Starting screen features a 5 minute countdown timer, and all of the screens have a topographic animation. There are tiny nuances on each page, but their visual continuity is maintained well.
The Just Chatting scene was made in order to have a place where the V-tuber model could be on display alongside the active chat. This was meant to be more of a backdrop, so the amount of detailed pieces in the other scene aren't present here in order to ensure a clear focus of the model.

Lastly, I was told to make a static Twitch Banner and small Panels for the creator's description section. Similar to the status scenes, they were created to look the same visually with slight changes to the topographic pattern in the background.
